When the showhome is just about the show . . .

Makes me laugh, even Charles Church internal company newletters highlight the 'perception' of quality that they put into their show homes, marketing and sales presentation.

But Charles Church (part of Persimmon Group plc, which also trades as Persimmon Homes in the UK) also uses Show Homes (executive homes, NHBC Site Manager Award) effectively to present one impression of the quality of a new build, which we found very different to the 'quality' of the finished home they actually sold.

  1. We often asked why the home Charles Church sold us did not match the show home in areas of workmanship, quality, finish. We never got a satisfactory answer.

  2. Nearly a decade on, and I see Brian Thomson is still working with customers to NOT fix expensive flooring issues in Charles Church homes. Persimmon appointed him early on to deal with such issues and to control costs, but you'd think he would have taken an interest in improving standards over all that time to actually stop the problem happening in the first place.
